Introducing the 718 Cayman

In a press release from this morning, Porsche announced the upcoming arrival of its latest mid-engine offering, the 718 Cayman. Following in the tracks of the recent debut of the 718 Boxster, the Cayman sports a more striking appearance than its predecessor and for the first time is priced under the Boxster roadster.

Both the 718 Cayman and 718 Cayman S produces 25 more horsepower than the outgoing models. The Cayman's 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while the 718 Cayman S is motivated by a 2.5-liter engine that creates 350 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 speeds are 4.0 and 4.5 seconds, respectively, and the vehicles can reach top track speeds of 170 and 177 mph.

The 718 Cayman and Cayman S are already on sale, but they won't arrive in the United States until late November. Starting MSRP begins at $53,900 for the Cayman and $66,300 for the Cayman S. More information can be found at press.porsche.com
